صلى

Nope :)

In Arabic peace is 'salam'. The root of the word Islam.

However I do not have an Arabic keyboard here right now.

Russian I believe is "Mir" (like the space station). I think in Cyrillic it is "мир" but I can't be sure as I'm not / don't speak Russian.

For something closer to home (I'm Belgian but of Italian descent, and travel there regularly) here is the Italian Peace Flag (http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/it%7Dpace.html):

In German we rather say "Frieden" (without the definite article "der") than "Der Friede".

In Finnish, it should be "rauha" with a lowercase r. Rauha (with an uppercase R) is a woman's name.

There's also the peace dove as a symbol.

In Arabic peace is 'salam'. The root of the word Islam.

it is written سلام for peace, إسلام for Islam

____________
i see that there is a synonymous for peace in hebrew, but wonder how can it be used, or may be it was used sometimes in the past, just like (hetep) of ancient egyptian language, or may be still being used between respectable jews out of palestine!

Since the first post only expresses Japanese in Roman-ji, I will post the Japanese characters (and I guess we added a letter to the Chinese)

I am not sure but I believe this is how you say peace in arabic:

صلىThat means to roast or broil. It's close to the verb to pray, though, صلو

Nope :)

In Arabic peace is 'salam'. The root of the word Islam.

However I do not have an Arabic keyboard here right now.I was just about to write it in when I say Khaled jumped in with.

it is written سلام for peace, إسلام for IslamWhich is correct.

Sorry I didn't see this thread before today or I would have added it in myself earlier.

In swahili you could also say "salama", which means that you are at peace.
