With my family skattered around the united states and me living in finland. It was good to know that outside of very small but still open source java program I was able to build a live webcam feed of our first child online for everyone in the family to see.
Thank you ubuntu. This is a perfect example of even the most internet centric countries in the world still need ubuntu.

This is the list of applications that are used to produce this live webcam feed.
Items with an astricks(*) are open source but are downloaded elsewhere.
Apache 2
Camserv
openssh-server
cambaloza*

Hope it helps,
I also have a ever forming howto on the subject found here...
The version in the howto is slimlined for people that don't need a full fledged webcam server. Just a webcam product when chatting with friends. I am making a frontend for this one in python.
