South Indian extra spicy food. But my favourite restaurant is a Northern Indian restaurant in Lisbon named Natraj, where I eat my Chicken Madras and my Chicken Vindaloo (and chug down a few Cobras - no King Fisher there).

Tough question and hard to narrow down!

My absolute favourites list would look something like this:

- Chili and cornbread (I had this lastnight - SO YUMMY!) served with a big dolop of sour cream
- Satay dishes - beef, chicken - all good
- Thai food, especially Thai curries (red curries are my favourite)
- Most Chinese food, especially Honey Chicken, Mongolian lamb, and claypot dishes, of course served with prawn crackers
- Most Indian food, especially curries with yoghurt and papadums
- Most Italian food, especially pasta with creamy sauce or homemade tomato and herb sauces; lasagna also a winner; fettucine, ravioli, tortelini and penne are amongst my favored pasta types
- Most Indonesian food, especially Beef rendang (One dish you definately have to have before you die)
- Most German food, especially sausages, sauerkraut and potato dumplings
- Corned beef - served both hot and cold
- Poached beef, vegetables, broth and dumplings
- Irish stew with lots of buttery toast
- Cooked breakfasts (fried eggs, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms, beans, toast, etc)
- Souvlaki - with lots of garlic and chilli sauce and sour cream!
- Apricot chicken
- Beef stroganov
- Goulash

Indian food in all it's wonderful varieties

When I'm not unemployed (like right now), I usually work as a cook in restaurants, so I know a lot of nice dishes.

Lately I've been making this sauce for rack of lamb, or fillet mignon, that I created on my own. It's a marsala goat cheese cream sauce.

It is so damn good. Using Marsala wine you de-glaze the saute pan that you used to sear the meat so you keep all of the good meat flavor and the spices, then add chopped garlic and shallots, then a bit of butter and then heavy whipping cream. Let that reduce a little, then add goat cheese and let it reduce to a nice thick sauce.

Then serve it over Filet Mignon or rack of Lamb done medium rare.

Maybe serve it with garlic mash potatoes and some nice veggies.

Hmm... Definitely something Mexican.

1st choice: my wife's cheese and onion enchiladas--she makes the best enchilada sauce I've ever tasted!

2nd choice: a green chile burrito from Federico's Mexican Food in Phoenix, Arizona, with a large horchata to drink

Gang Phed Ped Yang

It's a Roast duck cooked in red curry paste with coconut milk, pineapple, cherry tomatoes and fresh sweet basil.

It's spicy, it's sweet, and Roasted Duck in a spicy red Thai curry is one of the best tasting things in the world.

I recommend this if you like Thai curries.

-a timtam (or other such chocolate, choc-coated biscuit [cookie to yanks]) with both ends bitten off, and then with warm cocoa sucked through, then quickly popped in mouth before it all falls apart. mmmmmm.. gooey chocolate-y goodness...
-peanut butter and cheese on toast
-vegemite, peanut butter and tomato on toast (not for the soft stomached.. tastes kind of like a rich satay on toast. lol)

How can anyone like marmite?

I do not recall not liking it ever since my first memories of childhood. I have just always liked it. Bovril is similar but not as nice, have not tried vegemite yet though but I will when I come across it in a shop.

Suppose it is the same as people that eat mopani worms or hakarl (cured shark) that reeks of ammonia. Personally i would stick to Marmite.

Meatballs are the greatest food ever.

The problem is alot of people fail at making them.

Real meatballs are made of

3 cups of bread crums
1 cup of parmesan cheese
2 eggs
5-8 cloves or fresh diced garlic
2 pounds of ground beef

Beef cooked into balls by itself is just odd shaped hamburger.

When I read that I actually went to lookup some recipes and found a good few.

Today was one of those rainy & cool (does not really get cold here) so i though what an excellent day to try out an Irish stew.

Well thank you for bringing Irish stew to my attention, as it was great!

I now look like a pot belly pig :)

I did not use sugar or bay leaves(could not find any) though. I also used a leg of lamb diced up into big 2-3cm cubes, I also got the butcher to cut up the bones into smaller pieces. You need the bones as they provide a lot of flavour with the marrow & stuff.

Yeah, for Chinese carry out/delivery, General Tso's chicken rules. Also General Tso's beef is really good, and General Tso's shrimp too.

and for other carry out foods I would go with New York City style cheese pizza, buffalo wings with blue cheese, and if I'm feeling healthy, I'd suggest Falafel or Lamb/Chicken Shawarma and spinach feta pies.
