After stumbling upon THIS PAGE (http://ririanproject.com/2006/10/30/how-to-keep-good-posture-when-in-front-of-a-computer/), and applying what I have learned, it was so much more comfortable (and healthy too! :D)

See these links too

It is highly probable that you spend much time using a computer, but do you use it the ergonomically correct way?

Most likely not. But then again I don't use home row typing either and that doesn't stop me from typing faster than just about everyone i know ;)

yeah that home-row typing is a bunch of bs. I can peck just as good as I can do that pretentious two handed typing form.. actually better.

Pretentious? I don't know about that. I can't imagine how somebody would be able to type at 90 words per minute with two fingers... :) Although it would be pretty mind blowing to see!

Not really, "pecking" is very inefficient but, you are right home-row typing isn't the fastest way to do it.

I probably don't follow much of that health and safety stuff - but hey, I've been spending less time on the computer recently anyway :D ... I moved my computer between houses recently and I've got it in my make-shift office, which consists of my make-shift desk (which is a dump) and of course my make-shift monitor stand (which is two books) ... so if I sit here all day I'll be crippled in no time.

By the way, thanks for the links. I'm going to bookmark this thread and look at those some time.

Personally, I think that the best way of avoiding injury is to just reduce your time on the computer.

I wonder if it's best to recline.

hmm... I wonder how this computer filled childhood is going to affect me (and actually the general population) in ~50 years.
