Have you guys seen this feature? It is pretty awesome. I discovered it as I was trying out the new kubuntu beta.

Looks pretty, but does it actually do anything? Like a lot of eye candy it seems to be there just for the sake of being there. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not against it, and it is certainly one in the eye for MS Vista users, btu it doesn't seem to really do anything that the tree view (my default) does normally in konqueror.

It does show you what a space hog OpenOffice and fonts are.

Back when I used KDE, I couldn't figure out how to remove that button from the Konqueror toolbar. I could remove every other button from the toolbar, except that one. That annoyed the hell out of me.

Looks like a less polished windirstat for windows. That program is amazing for figuring out where all your space has gone. Very nice!

Try FileLight (http://www.methylblue.com/filelight/) instead. Much better designed and integrates the same way. (Calls itself "RadialMap view")

It's useful when set to show less depth.

Certainly not pretty. Certainly not eye-candy. And a bit useful. I use other tools myself, but I am not against it.

There is a much pretty one called "Radial View".
It's really useful. It looks similar to the one in gnome (GNOME Disk Analyzer) under accessories.

Radial view can be viewed inside konqueror.

Here's my OP about it ages ago

Meh, the File Size View is easier to read and figure out.

for a moment, i thought all that horrible color was his own color scheme. turns out that 'box of ribbon' candy look is what the view does on its own. kde4's default looks are way better than kde3's. it's kind of like vista, in that regard.

they didn't take this out of kde4 did they, i couldnt find this feature in the new beta (kde 4.1 beta 2), this was one of the most useful features of konqueror, i used it a lot to find wast on my disk and clean it up...

I would like to know too.
I used konqueror on Gnome just because of that feature!

No, it's still in there - it's moved to extragear-base. I used it just yesterday :)

I can't find any package named extragear-base. :(

I found fsview here:
http://l10n.kde.org/stats/gui/trunk-kde4/team/fr/extragear-base/

But it's just the localization files.

Packages containing fsview:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?searchon=contents&keywords=fsview&mode=exactfilename&suite=hardy&arch=any

And I already have konq-plugins installed.
