Hello. So if you're a Gentoo user, then I can spare myself the effort of giving you links with beginner info on Ubuntu, right? :D

nah, although i am from gentoo, it does not mean i am good at gnu/linux. i am trying out ubuntu atm, kinda tired of compiling. anyway, i still use gentoo. dual boot!!!!!!!!!!!

my proxy server located in HK still on gentoo(for bypassing GFOC).

Hopefully, you'll not need to dual boot (if Windows is on one of the partitions). Ever since I have switched to Ubuntu I didn't need Windows anymore :)

Hello :)
There is a Gentoo talk sub-forum you may want to check:

Two of my favorite sites aimed at the initiate Ubuntu user:

www.ubuntuguide.org - a very comprehensive guide for doing almost anything in Ubuntu, but explained in a very simple manor

http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/ - a good all round read for initiates plus some good simple guides with pictures

looks like there aren't many old gentoo people around here, maybe they aren't using their old net names, meh.

i just deleted the ubuntu partition after 24 hours. too pretty and hard for me(hate new stuff, dunno why, maybe that's why i've been staying with my wife for 13 years?). :???:
