Is your glass half full or half empty?

So reading around recently, I have noticed that a lot of our 'patrons' seem to be erring towards the half empty view on life....what are you....and possibly why?

Half full is 0 + 1/2, which is 1/2.
Half empty is 1 - 1/2, which is 1/2.

No difference. :)

my glass is not optimum capacity.. i shall downgrade my glass to half the capacity and have a full glass and a backup incase any issues arise with the full glass :)

hmm, when i'm out drinking with friends the philosophical parts like this usually don't show up till we've progressed to drinking out of party hats(the plastic kind that don't leak but have a decent volume) i'd just say the hat could do with a top up but for now it'll be good.

I'm not trying to be an obnoxious enforcer of grammar but It's "It's twice as big as it needs to be" or "It's two times bigger than it needs to be". "Twice" doesn't mean "two times" in all the meanings of "times".

I would sit around correcting everyone's grammar on the various forums that I post on... Problems I encounter are:

1) I'm too lazy

and

2) My grammar isn't that great and I would end up looking like an idiot within a short space of time..

The way I see it, if you fill a glass full and drink half, it's half empty. If you only fill up half, it's half full.

Then again, I'm being way too literal on something that's supposed to be metaphorical.
