Map Creation

Hello,

I am looking for software which could be used to create maps. Something more like www.profantasy.com (http://www.profantasy.com) rather than mind mapping software like FreeMind.

It doesn't have to be crazy detailed nor very powerful. Thanks for any advice or thoughts.

have you looked at the open street map (http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/Main_Page) project?

it might not be quite what you want, but may help you find what you need.

Thanks for the reply ssam. A neat little project but I am actually trying to find something to make my own maps - not use existing maps.
