I think I can post this here, cuz it's not really a help me issue. It's more of a "Hmmm I wonder..." that I have.

I'm looking for a fruity loops, acid pro, garage band open source type alternative.

Anyone know any good ones?

Thanks,

moose

I like Jokosher, it's in the repos, but you might also want to check out the Ubuntu Studio project if you're interested in some more feature-full solutions.

you can allways try ubuntu studio (http://ubuntustudio.org/). it's an ubuntu derivative for artists. it hasn't been released yet, but it should be by the time feisty gets launched. until then there is a meta-package in the repos called "ubuntu-studio".
it's usually best to download distros made for media editing and not separate apps as some of them are a bit tricky to be installed.
if you don't want to wait for ubuntu studio, you can download 64studio (http://64studio.com/), musix, dyne:bolic. there was a distro which you paid for, but i forgot it's name.
but be careful that it's not yet that easy to make music in linux. at least it wasn't for me, and of course it depends on what kind of music you want to make. i suggest you dual boot with win xp and use a windows app instead.
