I am relatively new to Linux

My favorite attribute of Ubuntu is the seemingly never ending learning curve.

Every day I read as much as I can to enable me to be better acquainted.

The purpose of this thread....

Please give me links to articles of topics I don't yet know I don't know. I would like to learn as much as I can. I am hoping community members will share access to any and all information prevalent to a better understanding of GNU/Linux. I am currently particularity interested in hardware support. This may change with the advent of new avenues of adventure.

very vague. If there is something you read regarding Linux, I would like to read it.

please, no RTFM, I am asking where the manuals are.

If you would like to ask questions regarding any learning materials provided I will be happy to attempt to answer them.

Thank you..

sincerely,

Richard.

Hi,

I recently bought "Using CSH & TCSH" by Paul Dubois and it's an excellent book for a tcsh (http://www.tcsh.org/) user like myself. If you prefer a sh-compatible shells (bash, zsh) checkout "From Bash to Z Shell: Conquering the Command Line" by Oliver Kiddle, Jerry Peek, Peter Stephenson.

The Public Domain Korn Shell (http://web.cs.mun.ca/~michael/pdksh/) is also an excellent shell you might want to look into

For Ubuntu specific books, see
"Moving to Ubuntu Linux" by Marcel Gagné (http://www.marcelgagne.com/) (I recommend this one)
"Ubuntu Hacks: Tips & Tools for Exploring, Using, and Tuning Linux" by Jonathan Oxer, Kyle Rankin, Bill Childers
"Ubuntu Unleashed" by Andrew Hudson, Paul Hudson

Two others I highly recommend are:
"The GNU AWK User's Guide" by Arnold D. Robbins
"SED & AWK" by D. Dougherty

For online resources look to The Linux Documentation Project (http://www.tldp.org/) and the ibiblio linux archive (http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/)

For hardware go to LinuxHardware.org (http://www.linuxhardware.org/), TLDP: Linux Hardware Compatibility HOWTO (http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Hardware-HOWTO/), Linux-Drivers.org (http://www.linux-drivers.org/)

For great examples of configuration files visit dotfiles.com (http://dotfiles.com/)

1+ on reading about other shells, I just started using zsh and it's amazing

I found a user guide for z-shell (http://zsh.sourceforge.net/Guide/) that looks quiet good
