Browsing the web, I found the following website.

It's a site about software patents in Europe, how they are being used as strategic instruments by the industry and how it could be different. An ethical patent system is a better option.
An ethical patent system is one that looks after the interests of patent holders but in a way that does not harm the progress of the arts and sciences for the public interest.
It's time for all of us to get involved. We're not asking for money or time, just your voice. Sign the petition, and pass this message to some friends. We want to collect a million signatures, and call for a new democratic patent law.
I'd like to have your opinion on this as well and start a discussion amongst ubuntu users.
