unless I have forgotten one or two this should be pretty accurate:

(States in red are the ones I have been to)

Not sure what happened, so I just saved the image to desktop and used gimp to reformat as png, then uploaded as attachment.

RAV, no that's not right either. I must have screwed up when I copied and pasted. For correct map see attachment above.

It tends to help that I used to fly for $5 one-way tirips.

Any reason why you did not visit West Virgina?

There's not much to west virginia... at least, not much from what I found.

I didn't include the states that my parents visited when I was a baby, only the ones I remember. (I think it would only add Idaho and Wyoming anyway)

The countryside is beautiful, but the inhabited sections struck me as being the largest trailer park in the US...

Harpers Ferry, West Virginia is very nice, if you ever find yourself back in the DC area take a day trip to Harpers Ferry...

Wow you were a bit up North in the colder sections...

I was primarily in SE Alaska....in the Inside Passage,.....which is part of the largest Temperate Rain Forest in North America,....so even though Juneau is in Alaska the weather is more similar to Vancouver, BC, Seattle and Portland, Oregon.

Nome was very remote, not someplace I would choose to live. But Anchorage was really beautiful. If I could spend summers there and winters here in AZ, I would be in heaven.

I'm not 100% sure how accurate mine is. I might have driven through the Western edge of Wyoming, and possibly the eastern edge of Kansas. I don't really remember going to Iowa, but I'm sure I have to have driven through it to get to Nebraska and south dakota, where I do remember going, so I counted it.

I am also not counting places I have only been in airports. If I were, I think I'd have to add georgia at least, though I'm not 100% sure about all the airports I've been to.

Although my stay in the USA was short (3 years), we made the most of it :) Some of the visits were just short pass-throughs, however.
