Hi All,

I am trying to contact the California LoCo Team Leader Mark Nielsen. I have spent the last couple of weeks emailing him at "Ubuntu California Team (Mark Nielsen)" <ubuntu.ca.team@gmail.com>, but I have only received one email from him.

I am a member of the California LoCo Team. I want to start giving out Ubuntu CD's at a local amateur radio fest, but I can't reach Mark to have him send me a box.

Can someone help me get a hold of him.

Thank you,

Cathead Fred

I don't know. I have sent him email also to create a local team distribution list but have not got a response. The best bet for the CD's would be to order them from Ubuntu and if you need a larger quantity just let them know. I have had them ship up to 50 CD's with no problems. Let them know your distributing them.

Hi byte69,

Thanks! I finally got a hold of him through another email of his. He said he was really busy, but will look into it. Did you get the 50 CD's through ShipIt? Or is there another way to contact Ubuntu to get larger quantities?

Yes I did get 50 about a year or so ago for 5.10 I think it was. I did it throught the ship it program with NO problems. I handed them out at LA 2600 and a few other tech meetings I went to. Just plan ahead. I personally plan on ordering 50+ soon for 6.06 LTS for Software freedom day. I am hoping to do an install party at a local coffee shop. I lean towards LTS because it is Long Term Support. I see it as a way to slowly introduce people to Ubuntu and not have to upgrade every 6 months. I know you don't have to but if they have almost 3 years to get comfortable with it then maybe it will take hold.
