Hi,

i am searching for a tool that will take a c++ project {a collection of files} and will generate a uml diagram....

is there a program for this purpose {preferably free}...

thanks for your time,

autodia would be one such package. (dia is a pretty cool UML program)

I just had the same problem, and simply installed autodia from a tarball. But I've not have very much positive experience with autodia, as it doesn't seem to handle templates or virtual inheritance. I've switched to Umbrello, which you can get off synaptic. It has the capability to generate uml from source, and it handles the more complex c++ code.

Cheers
