Well most of the time you hear about Microsoft or Apple or some company ripping off their customers to get more of a profit. The only company I can think of that actually seems to want to please it's customers are Nintendo. They always seem to be trying to do cool new things to be more fun for the consumer. Are there any others that actually seem to want to please the customers? Do the majority of companies generally not care that much about their customer and try to just spit out the least they can to still make profit?

The only company I can think of that actually seems to want to please it's customers are Nintendo. If Nintendo wants to please its customers, it could make more copies of the Wii available. My wife has wanted one for about four months now.

At least Nintendo is trying, they could have charged $1000 for the thing and cut back on features compared to other models like Sony did with the ps3 here in Australia.

Tell your wife it will be worth the wait, Ive got a Wii and its great, Im thinking about going out right now and getting tiger woods for it actually.

Bill, to answer your question, yes and no. No, in that companies always take on lives of their own (why do you think corporations are given the rights of individuals in US property law?) and like any living thing, it seeks its own preservation (or quickly dies in competition for scarce resources--here, it's capital). Yes in that if they're going to stay alive long, they probably better keep some customers happy. All of those ripoff stories are usually to a small degree (the Best Buy intranet scandal couldn't overcharge you THAT much) or complete anomalies (pretty much anything you find on digg).

As for the shortage of Wii's there's a lot involved in that. First of all, there is the physical limitations of producing that many consoles, a financial risk in producing them (or purchasing the means to produce them--several projected this to be a flop with good reason), the fact that they've essentially created a new market (some might say reclaimed an abandoned one) giving them a virtual monopoly, their first-party games give them much market power. Basically, if they had enough to meet demand, they probably would have to had made a much higher initial price to protect them financial loss, thus alienating the core of their market; or, put simply, you can't please everyone.

I love this store and the owners. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. I had spent hundreds at the vet for a health problem my dog was having. After talking to one of the owners, she suggested a food change. For the price of a bag of food, my dog's health problem disappeared. My children love coming to the store and the owners are very patient with them. They show the children how to hold the different animals and actually let them hold them.

Wonderful pet store!! I've gotten all of my birds from these guys. Bob and Kay are just wonderful - they invest so much time in hand training their birds (cockatiels, quakers, conures). I would recommend these guys over Petco ANYTIME. If you want a tame, well trained, healthy bird, then this is the store for you. I especially recommend a visit when the birds are running around in their "play-ground" - a specially adapted critter tank which gives the birds mental stimulation, social interactions and exercise. No wonder their birds are so happy! I guarantee a healthy happy pet.
