Hi

My last post in this thread is gone. No PM received.
Where is it?

The post was jailed by a staff member due to violation of forum policies.

First of all I think that if a post gets jailed a PM should be send to the OP.

Second of all, I think nothing was wrong with my reply.

So I would like to who removed my post and why the other post was allowed to stay?

I have no clue why you should care what happens to the other post. It wasn't yours.

Yours was removed because it included a direct insult to the person you quoted. It could (maybe should?) have received an infraction, but didn't.

You should be grateful, not angry.

EDIT: it turns out the infraction was being issued as I wrote this post. Ignore the last two sentences of the original post.

An infraction because I said he had an attitude problem? Whoa, you guys sure are sensitive. That's not an insult.

Besides that... I have reported the post above mine (the one I was replying to) because he was insulting my intellect and that of others that disagree with him. That's why I care about what happens to the other post.

I hope not. I get tired of trying to educate those who wish not to learn.
That can be construed as a general statement, while you said

You have an attitude problem

Which is a direct insult at another member.

It's all a matter of perception my friend.

Please someone explain to me why 'I hope not. I get tired of trying to educate those who wish not to learn.' is not belittling?

From The Collaborative International Dictionary of English v.0.48 :

Belittle \Be*lit"tle\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. Belittled; p. pr. &
vb. n. Belittling.]
To make little or less in a moral sense; to speak of in a
depreciatory or contemptuous way. --T. Jefferson.
[1913 Webster]

Matthew has already infracted that post. In addition, his behavior does not justify yours, and because so it is irrelevant to this issue.

Matthew has already infracted that post. What does that mean? He got an infraction for it? If that is the case it should be removed too in my opinion.
In addition, his behavior does not justify yours, and because so it is irrelevant to this issue. It's not irrelevant because my reaction wouldn't have been there in the first place if he didn't had post his.

But lets leave it at this. This part is not really important. I would appreciate an answer to my last question though.

Thanks for explaining jdong. I got one more question for Matthew... Why was mine removed and his wasn't? I mean, if you agree that post was not appropriate it only seems fair to remove that one too.

Different staff members handled the situation, and both methods of dealing with the situation are acceptable.

In this case, your post was much more significantly flaming than the other post, which may have swayed a decision towards the jailing of your post.

Alright. I made my point, I'll rest my case.
