Hi all !

I was wandering in Notting Hill (London) a couple of weeks ago, and in a small deco stuff shop I stumbled upon a mug which had... Ubuntu written all over it !
I learned that an association named Whateverittakes (http://www.whateverittakes.org) had the idea of asking a famous person to decorate a mug and then it would be sold for charity purposes. Turns out Samuel (maybe it's not him after all) chose Ubuntu values to decorate its mug.
Kind of very black, but the Ubuntu label does make it geeky-appealing :)

Though I'm quite sure he's referencing Ubuntu as an ideology, and not Ubuntu as a Linux distribution, it's still a cool mug. Nice find.

That is pretty steep for a mug.

Yeah, I'm sure that Sammy wasn't promoting our Linux flavor. It would be interesting to see how he would respond to seeing the Distro that embodies the same principles he chose for his mug.

It think it is true I watched a documentary on Sam.L about a year ago and it had a shot of him using a laptop with what was either ubuntu or a very ubuntu looking debian on it-he seemed to be using firefox aswell! Though my memory might be decieved-it was a year ago, though I am sure I saw Ubuntu or at least some offshoot of Debian.

It's nice to see celebrities endorsing the open source movement instead of telling us to try out alternative therapies and scientology all the while,eh?

I can see him appearing out of nowhere and in your face after pouring your drink, asking, "How's it taste motherf**ker!?" :D

That's a great movie.

They mention Ubuntu a couple of times, not the distro, but the African word.

I'm pretty sure the yellow text is a translation of the red text.

On another note - where I work, truck drivers of many nationalities arrive all the time. I had a man who said he was from South Africa ask me what Ubuntu meant. I told him about the philosophy and the origin of the word and he said he had never heard of it. :?
