Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with this company, a friend of mine just recently told me about it and I thought it was really cool/interesting and I thought I should share with everyone else.
The company is Linode (http://www.linode.com/) and they offer full root access to your own virtual server with a static ip, generous bandwidth and at a respectable price and I thought it was the perfect solution for anyone looking to host their own website/server with ease.
