Ive never done the whole IM thing so when I wanted to I realised I had no one to talk to. Hence this thread. Besides I wouldn't mind making a few new friends.

the jabber accounts dont come with emails (I think) and besides Id never do that. Im not a prick.

OK, so lemme axe you this: Why Jabber instead of MSN/GG/AOL/ICQ/YahooIM...or any of them over each other?

A friend wanted to know that last night. I had no idea. ICQ was the old one, so that's what I still have. I have Yahoo because it's part of your webmail account anyway (I use Gaim in Ubuntu & XP as it's a cross-platform client). I think you can access/friend-up these accounts with Jabber, and if so, just IM me using the IM data in my profile.

open source + you dont actually have to sign up to anything, just whack in a username and so long as its not alredy taken you get the account.
