Do you have any names for your computer or some special term?
I love to call my computer as Workstation
Some people call theirs as UBUNTU Box, or Terminal, or maybe... BackBreaker... ;)
Some people even give names to their computers
While some people just call their computer just a 'computer'
So whats yours called ?

Well,
if i talk about my pc's, it's just my "laptop" or my "server".
But if you want pc-names; the laptop is called "iarwain-laptop" 8) and my little NFS server is called Withywindle.

i give all my systems names...i have 10 systems and that's too many to say "bring me that laptop" or "look up something on the desktop"...i'm not going to say any of the names, but there is one that i just think is pretty cool:
The main everything-server box in my house is named Hal (from 2001: A Space Odyssey)

My main desktop machine has been The Big Kahuna for years now. I don't give my laptops names. That would be just silly.

My server is callled "server"
My laptop is called "laptop"
Although my laptop get called "handbag" a lot because I carry it everywhere (in it's laptop case) when I am out and about and I need it.
"I'm going now, I've got my handbag, goodbye."

Server names:
Leviathan - development server
Abyss - archive and redundant development server
iDull - massive /home/ sever (named after "American I-Dull" *worst show ever*)
Laptop names:
AlienWhore - personal development system
Frankenlappy - old school laptop
Pimp - older laptop, it's been bedazzled
Desktop names:
Goliath - Main development system
David - Secondary development system
PussNBoots - Windows box, last loaded over a month back
Frankenstein - a complete mess of parts, but it works, fiesty likes it.
I have a few other systems with names that are NSFW so I won't bother posting those. Obvious reasons.

Call them by their makers code, like X505, T90, TR5 etc.

In some places the term "rig" is very popular.
Example:
Check out the new blue cathode in my rig!

For me, a Desktop\Server of any sort (and occasionally laptops, if I'm verbally lazy :p) are 'boxes'. Otherwise they're 'Servers', 'Desktops' and 'Laptops'. I don't use 'Notebook', I have used 'Tablet PC' and I use 'PDA'.
Computer name wise? Basically, 'Family_NameX', where 'X' is a number from 1 to infinity.

well, at home I have an 'arianlynn' and a 'frank' . . . but at the office we name the computers with male names alphabetically, like 'adam', 'billy', 'connor', etc. so that on the off chance a coworker needs a file and calls me I can say either 'its on adam' or 'its on machine k I believe' as I cant remember all the names. As for general conversation, I ususally call my laptop 'lappy' and my other computer 'dinasaur' or 'frankenstein' or 'POS'

Hello computer! ;)
As for me, well yes my computers have names (desktop is Pintsize, laptop is Osaka) but I generally don't call them by their names. I tend to be boring and just say "computer" (or "laptop") although when chatting with friends via IMs or forums I often get creative and say things like "compy" or "compybox".
