I've submitted an application to help with FileManagerImprovement (check the BreezyBounties page for details).
Wish me luck.

I want to apply but the only code I have much experience in is php. I don't know what, if any, projects that would be useful on.

On the same note for $4500 I'll buy a book and learn python! lol

I think organizations can sign up to be a mentor. Here is the mentoring FAQ (http://code.google.com/mentfaq.html).

Dang! I never though I would wish to still be a student... This is going to have major benefits for Ubuntu and Kubuntu. Think about it: tons of helper monkeys, contributing tasty code to the project, and Google paying for it?

Plus, KDE is now involved: http://developer.kde.org/joining/googlecodeofsummer.html
That means when Kubuntu 5.10 Breezy is released (hopefully with KDE 3.5) it will be simply AMAZING!
