I'm going to have to update my graphics card. It's always sucked at games, but buying Oblivion and finding it unplayable was the last straw. This gave me a poll idea. What type of graphics card do you have? AGP, PCI-Express or Integrated?

i have an AGP

and if you want to play video games, and want it to work with current and future video games, i would get a PCI express video card if your motherboard can support it.... because that is defenitly the future for video cards, as intregrated is ok just for like everyday use (not intensive 3d games) and agp is fine, but pci-express is faster.

All of the above - PCI as well.

PCIe is the go tho. If supported.

PCI express goes at 16x.
AGP can only go to 8x max.

So PCI express is the way to go for games.

Yeah - PCI-Express is amazing. My Dad has a really nice machine with a beastly PCI-E video card. I've seen the thing rip through games at top resolutions like hot knife through butter. Unfortunately, my motherboard only supports AGP. Right now, I have an nVidia GeForce 5500 FX. It's served me well, but now that I'm getting back into PC gaming - it's sucking quite bad. I'm thinking of forking over a little under $200 and getting a 7600 GT.

I got AGP, a nvidia 6600GT. Sad because now I can't upgrade my computer anymore. (Socket478 etc etc) Next time I'll have to buy everything, not looking forward to that :(

I have an ATI PCI-e on my laptop . . . I can definately see the improvement over the old agp card with the same amount of memory (128M) in my tower

ATi IGP 340M, which doesn't respond well to advanced desktop effects.
Also can't run anything using FireGL.

Friend of mine has the BFG 7800... and it's damn good for AGP. However, if you are willing to spend almost 400USD on a graphics card, step back and buy a PCIe motherboard, New Processor, New memory, and then a 200USD graphics card for roughly the same performance with a better upgrade path.

Two desktops with AGP. I've upgraded them to the fullest. It seems AGP cards are getting rarer and rarer. The laptop has an integrated card. Kinda sucks. I wish those could be changed out....
