Well what can I say? After being a Microsoft user since MS DOS ver 3 and having looked at various Linux distributions over the years, I have to say that Ubuntu is an absolute ripper (Thats Australian for fantastic). Anyway... I'd love to stay and type some more but I've got to get back to finishing an installation. The RDP client is top notch too and works seamlessly with my Windows 2003 Terminal Server. Now all I've got to do is find an alternative for Quicken and I'll ditch Windows all together.

Just my two bits,

Quicken works on crossover office 1.2 ;)

Glad to see someone moving to Linux..

I wish I could ditch Windows altogether, but I can't

Now all I've got to do is find an alternative for Quicken...

Gnucash can track finances in multiple accounts, keeping running
and reconciled balances. It has an X based graphical user interface,
double entry, a hierarchy of accounts, expense accounts (categories),
and can import Quicken QIF files.

And it is in the repositories.

Gnucash. You need gnucash. Quicken should not be brought over. It is a disgraceful program (its code is very pathetic if the final product is any indication).

I'm of the opinion that if you can't absolutely ditch a piece of software it's at least worth it to see if it'll run in say... CrossOver Office or Wine or similar.
There's a few choices for windows emulation.
