Hello. Could you give some details about domains and hosting? I wish to create my own site dedicated to music . So what should I do? Do you recommend buying domains and hosting from the very same company or choose I different companies for doing that? Lastly do you recommend any domain and hosting company?
Thanks.

Build the site offline first. Install Apache2 for local testing. Configure it to do SSI, PHP, Perl, Python or whatever you need. When you're at least semi-ready, buy your domain and hosting and upload the site. Have fun.

I buy both from same company - Hypermart. I highly recommend http://hypermart.com for hosting. I have 3 accounts there, and have had for many years. Their new "One" package is very good, and reasonably priced (the multi-tier packages are gone now). 300GB of storage space and 3 terabytes of traffic per month. You get all the usual CGI stuff, like SSI, PHP, Python, Perl, etc. Hosting is $166.80 US for 2 years at a time.

You can register domain names there too. Their discounted rate for 3 year registration is something like $33 US. $11/year is pretty competitive, I think.

I use dreamhost (http://dreamhost.com) They seem to offer a lot of bandwidth/storage for the price.

Its something like $110 for 200GB storage, 2TB bandwidth and it increases every week by 16GB..

I like them, but they've recently told me I can't run my CGI http-proxy because it takes up too much resources, and I have a problem with one of my domains being slow to load.. and they havn't managed to solve the problem :(
