Any recommendations for "Home Page" LAMP packages?

I'm trying to find a simple solution that allows me to put up a site, with a blog entry or two, pictures, movies, or whatever else would go on a "family" website.

Any packages any could recommend...couldnt find anything on google...leads to all kinds of pay-sites.

Do you want to pay for something, or do you have a spare PC that you can set up? I've got a old machine as a server using the LAMP server on the ubuntu server install. The only thing you really need is to buy a domain name for that kind of set up, if you want one.

For a blog checkout Wordpress, (http://www.wordpress.org) it's great :)! Plus you can add some plugins to handle the other things you wanted.
