Software suggestion for Blog Posting?

What does everyone use for posting to their blogs? (in specific, I am using WordPress as my blog choice).

In Windows, I know there are many available options like *gulp* Windows Live Writer. However, Performancing for Firefox (which I used to use) does not seem to be maintained anymore.

What do you all use? Any suggestions?

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, I couldn't really find a category in the forum above for this and I think it is opinion-based :)

For my WordPress blog I use Gedit for the typing, the snippets plug-in is very convenient to add code. Than I have to copy and paste it in Drivel or WP's editor to publish it. A Gedit blogging plug-in would be wonderful :)
