Thought I'd plug a creative commons licensed book ...

The author of Linux kernel in a nutshell (http://www.kroah.com/lkn/):

This book is intended to cover everything that is needed to know in order to properly build, customize, and install the Linux kernel. No programming experience is needed to understand and use this book.

Thoughts/comments/stories on the book or the act of compiling a kernel, anyone?

That's a really good book. I've read most of it ... and have had the latest kernel sources lying around for a while but haven't gotten around to compile yet.

I will. And I'll do it before the next version comes out so I can still get the latest kernel without having to download it again.

I' m thinking of maybe buying the book... Wonder when a second edition will be published. Probably not too soon, the book is less than a year old.
