Need help from IT professionals

Hey, guys.

I'm creating a questionnaire for a company that develops business analytics/intelligence software. Specifically, the questionnaire must be geared to discover the pain-points of the IT professionals who must ultimately implement the software solutions.

Could any IT professionals on the forum help me to understand the occupational stresses and pain-points of your job? What energizes you? What drives you nuts? Who is your boss, and what runs through your mind when they say: "Hey, let's get this new software solution up and running?"

Any insight (or even questions) that you can give me to help me develop this questionnaire would be greatly appreciated.

When they decide to buy a piece of software without technical input & evaluation from their staff. Then you 'have to' make this pos work else they are going to look bad.

The above makes me nuts, fortunately I did not deal much with software but I have seen some pretty amazing things in the networking environment.
