Scandinavian Socialism thread closed? resolved

Why was this (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=376895) thread closed? It was the most active thread in the Backyard while open (so far as I can tell). There are other similar (but different) threads that have been open for quite a while. Other than a couple of terse posts, it was not degrading into a flame war. The closing seems rather...arbitrary, at best.

Why the lack of response on this? Was the subject matter too sacrosanct to be questioned? Did I step on a few beliefs?

I'm sure when KiwiNZ see's this he will respond accordingly. I am not sure why he closed it but from what I was reading it steered off topic and really had no reason to continue.

So far as I can tell, it never really went off-topic. Certainly no more than any number of similar threads, and to my mind, considerably less. Even the last three posts were ostensibly on-topic. Mostly. :p
