Hi Sal. I live in Buffalo, NY a good 8hrs. from you. When I address you, I feel weird as that is my name as well. =P I shall post a little bit about myself later today or when I get home from work tonight.

Thanks. The forums are very friendly and have a very strong sense of community. But now I feel even more connected because I can chat with people who live close to me.

I may have met some of you at UbuCon, where this all got started. I was the guy up front with a Black uDIG shirt over a white long-sleeve shirt.

Hi Sal, I live in Rochester, it's about an hour away from you. :-) If you ever go to any of the NYC events and want someone to split the gas cost when car-pooling just give me a buzz.

Hello, I'd like to step forward and be counted. I live nowhere near a major city. I live along the road between Binghamton and Albany, almost at the halfway point. The nearest major population center of note would be Oneonta.

It's about five hours to Manhattan, two to Albany, two to Syracuse, and four to Rochester.

But this amazing thing called the Internet is useful for forging strong relationships even with people far away! (a friend in Minnesota turned me on to Linux in the first place)
