Does anyone know if a policy has been adopted yet on how the 3 year releases will be handled? Will you have to wait until the 3 year support for 6.06 fully expires before the next LT release is made. Or will there be a 6 or 12 month overlap. Personally, I would appreciate some overlap, but could certainly live with no overlap.
Thanks

Good questions, I would be interested to know this too.

I don't think anyone knows (except maybe the ubuntu devs) because Ubuntu only has one LTS release. Logically, there should be an overlap, which is what Debian does with its stable releases (one year) & RHEL/CentOS go even further.

I don't think anyone really knows when the next LTS release will be -- not even the developer community :). But I'm sure Canonical (err, make that 'I have faith that Canonical') will not strand LTS users with an unsupported distribution or a very abrupt upgrade time window.
