I am in the process of pricing out a new computer , Wanting to build it myself, looking for a small form factor case something along the lines of a mac mini or slightly larger. I am looking for a motherboard with onboard video and sound that is supported in Ubuntu linux.
The idea for this machine is see if I can make one for some older cleints who just do surfing and email, along with watching a DVD on the machine and playing music from a CD,looking to build it cheap, if anyboady knows of products that might fit this bill please post, thanks ago.

I am sure we can beat a Mac Mini in price and have a very good machine.

Shuttle makes some nice small form factor machines.

The Koala Minis from System76 may fit your bill. Plus, they already come preloaded with Ubuntu, so there's nothing to set up.

I think those shuttle barebones come too close to the mac mini price. But you could look for a used one with P4 that could be done.
