just wondering, do ubuntu users use RSS feeds, and if so, what sites to you feed from (especially linux related, but not necessarily).
I really like the idea, but I only have feeds to a few sites that I use (the feed for http://digg.com/linux_unix is one of my favorites).
Hopefully I'll get to add a few more now.

Never used them, and don't even really know what they are...

I tried using RSS a few times, but it was just too clumsy for me personally. So, I don't use RSS. :)

I use Liferea to track them. Too many to mention, almost none Linux related.

I don't know if you would count me as I'm currently using windows. But as a web 2.0 addict I have tons of RSS feeds. It helps me keep fresh on the latest happenings in web 2.0, and linux in general.

I use them quite often. Mainly news etc.

I hate tags though. Seem utterly pointless to me. But such is life.

Not with any real RSS reader, only as Live Bookmarks in Firefox, allowing me to easily check the latest news.

I hate social bookmarking. Ok, glad to get that out.

I do subscribe to many RSS feeds. I also use rss for podcasts, vodcasts, and so forth.

I have a ton of RSS feeds that I check in Thunderbird 2. They range from general news (AlterNet, BoingBoing, Reuters, my local television station and the LA Dodgers) to tech (various Mozilla feeds, CNET, DesktopLinux, Linux-Watch, WordPress Planet and the new posts for the SitePoint and these forums) and even some entertainment sites (Cute Overload, Least I Could Do and the SciFi Wire), as well as my own blog and online stores to verify how they look to my readers. The listed sites are just a few of my feeds and I love being able to get new stories so easily.

Liferea is an essential piece of software for me, I get most of the news every day (and more than once per day) with it. Therefore, my answer is: yes, I use RSS Feeds, all the time.

Curiously, I only found about them by trying Liferea, because I hadn't payed much attention to the whole feeds phenomenon before.

I love RSS feeds, I use Liferea to keep track of them. It saves me lots of time and I basically hate firefox's live bookmarks. Anyway lots of linux sites, just look for them. One site i love tho it only deals with linux issues now and then is Terminally Incoherent (http://terminally-incoherent.com/blog/). Another i like is Lifehacker (http://www.lifehacker.com/).

If you're just starting out with RSS feeds a good thing to do is to check and see if the sites you visit often have feeds. If it's a site you visit daily or weekly, chances are they have a feed.

Hell yeah, Google Reader is the bomb, I have like 50 feeds from there. I like how you can go back in time and see old posts.

same here, FLOSS news is so entertaining sometimes. I must say, it`s addicting lot like tabloid entertainment for me.

I've got over a hundred sites in Google Reader, including these forums. Everything from work-related, entertainment, news, and random blogs. There is no way I'd be able to get as much information on a daily basis, consistently, without RSS feeds.

I'm also a RSS/Atom addict as it's much easier to monitor sites this way opposite to visiting them directly in case something new might appear. As I'm on Kubuntu I manage my feeds via Akregator. Personally, I never liked Firefox life bookmarks. Without a preview window and a tree view there's just to many clicks involved to check all feeds.
