today, you have a snow day. for the next three months, you'll have a slush day. 36 years was enough for me. hail the land of the longleaf pine.

thats nothing. you have not experienced a snow day unless you have one in TUCSON, ARIZONA (lower part of arizona)

we didnt get snow for like 10 years, and then randomly one day we wake up and everything is covered in snow.... then suddenly the cry of "wtf??" was heard everywhere =P

I hate you all.

Only 2-3 inches in Boston. If the T runs, you go.

Lucky. :)

We had two "ice days" here in Austin, Texas last month. And for the first time, in about 10 years (at least to my knowledge) I saw snow fall and it stayed on the ground. It was actually cold enough for us to turn on our heater for the first time this winter (then a week later we had 60 degree days, and we turned it off...have yet to turn it back on too)

Lancaster... not in the UK, right?

Driving to my university was bad enough, today would have been much, much worse. I would have been on my way to class had they announced the closing just 10 minutes later.

I'm having a bit of snow day, as well.

Up north here, we're catching a little bit of the snowstorm. The roads were pretty snowy on the way in to work and I saw a few cars in the ditch. Now that I've gotten here, my car is being slowly buried. I sure hope it'll start at the end of the day.

It's coming down
Snow lays on the chainfields
There's a blessing on the ground
It's coming down
If your lanes are crammed with children
There's a blessing on your town
On a lucky Monday, Mrs. Braintree
All your lanes are waxen silver
And the stores are loot for vagabonds
It's coming down
Go home! Go home and take a snow day, Mrs. Braintree!

Adelaide has forgotten what the word "rain" means, while the western states are complaing about water damage to their precious buildings, lucky bastards. :)

The only time we ever have snow days in Montana is if it's -40 degrees, because that's when the buses stop running  Seriously, I can't remember ever having a snow day here.
