Galeon 'requires' mozilla, so what's the difference?

As far as rendering HTML/CSS/etc. I don't think there is a difference because they both run on the Gecko engine, but Firefox's plugin features, themes, etc. are all specific to firefox and it seems to be the most supported browser on the net these days.

Don't know much about Galeon ... haven't used it in alteast 5 years.

Galeon isn't in development anymore. If you like it I would recommend trying and using Epiphany. It's the successor of that browser.
