Good morning... Just download a live CD of Ubuntu last week, and very new to the linux world. I must say, I like Ubuntu. I played around with Fedora about 2 years ago, but gave up on it.

The quest I am on, is to build a MythTV box under Ubuntu (perferred because of the nice WIKI and documentation). Others have pointed me towards MythDora, etc, but none of there sites up to par.

Ultimately, I would like to take my ASUS 939, AMD 3000+, nVidia 5200 PC which currently has XP on it, add another HD, and install Ubuntu/MythTV on it. But before I do, I wanted to know if anyone has had issues picking up the ATSC signal in Weber or Davis county, and their suggestions. I noticed that the PCHDTV cards are sold by a company here in Sandy.

Thanks for reading this post, and my apology for the 'noob' sounding thread.

Well you lost me at ATSC so I don't think you will sound like a "noob" here. But then again I don't do MythTV...yet. ;) Sorry for the pointless post

Thanks... the ATSC signal is the Digital Signal that you can receive if your TV has a HD Tuner built in, or if you have a card for your PC. NTSC is what you typically watch on your standard analog TV.

Any MythTV users in this LoCo?

Any MythTV users in this LoCo?

I'm not, and I'm not sure about this LoCo, but if you need Myth support in Utah, I know that there are several people in the PLUG (Provo LUG) and the BYU UUG that are quite proficient with it.
