I'm thinking of buying a notebook computer, & am have almost made my choice...

PROS: It's quite cheap($777), and has a DVD burner...

CONS: The processor is single core...

Please let me know your opinions about the above notebook...

a. is 512 MB of RAM enough??

b. Should i go for dual core instead??

Yeah, I'd go for a dual core intel processor. 512 MBs isn't too bad; make sure you can add more later if you ever need to.

b/w AMD & Intel dual core... Turion 62 x2 or Core Duo?? (Core 2 Duo out of budget...)

Depends on what you're going to use it for. Unless you are a programmer and/or need to run some heavy-computation stuff I'd say the laptop is absolutely fine.
