Hi,

I want to get a external hard drive for my home file server. I am looking at this case now: http://www.coolermaster.com/index.php?LT=english&Language_s=2&url_place=product&p_serial=RX-3HA/3HU/3SB&other_title=RX-3HA%2F3HU%2F3SBX%20Craft

My question is, would it be cool enough to be on 24/7? What kind of external enclosure would you recommend? I want something that houses an PATA hard drive that connects via USB(2) and cool enough to stay up 24/7.

Thanks in advance!!!

Seems fine to me, has way more ventilation than some other enclosures i have seen. I also think most heat generated in a case is not dues to the HD but to the CPU, GPU & PS.

Just about any enclosure can run 24/7 without overheating HDD's don't produce that much heat, mostly because they are rarely kept spinning all this time. If you are really concerned look for one with a fan in the back so it can actively cool the drive.
