You're lucky for finding such tutorials; all I found was Wikipedia and Linux.com, which confused me so much I decided to install FreeBSD instead.

You're lucky for finding such tutorials; all I found was Wikipedia and Linux.com, which confused me so much I decided to install FreeBSD instead.

linux.org was the one that confused me. I found linux.com, but it didnt confuse me that much. Luckily i found the part where it talked about free (as in beer, etc) and that all distros are based off the same thing, and a distro is just a assortment of programs that interact with linux (the kernel)

Yeah, I though linux.org was confusing too. I was looking for a place to download some Linux and I though that would be the obvious place to do so, but it just confused the heck out of me. Didn't offer too many links to get started.
