Hi.

Since i was using Ubuntu from 5.04, few months ago migrated to Debian, the mayor reason was, that it provided base-install images. But Debian packages are a bit outdated, but Ubuntu is bloated with stuff i don't even need. So i was wondering will Ubuntu provide base-install , similar to Debian, well it's my personal request because of the newer packages.

You could always do a server install. A net install should also be possible I have never tried it.

I am interested in this as well. If I did a server install, wouldn't it be installing server optimized kernel?

I have same issue, there are things I really don't need and would like to customize to my needs.
