William Pickett

I would like to start a support group in Albuquerque, through emails and IM sessions, using GAIM, ; my email address is wkpickett0154@comcast.net. Your subject when emailing would be Ubuntu NM Support Group.:)
***4-16-07 UPDATE The first 'issue' went out to those who emailed me as requested, and it looks good. Mr Thomas will keep us informed on the "Full Circle magazine", so that's a plus. Anyone who wants to tell their story as to how you came to Ubuntu and your computer involvement, email me as stated above. AND** Anyone wanting a separate IRC for this area and group- if you know how- I do not-- set it up and let the rest of us know what and where, ok! Thanks everyone.
I eagerly await 0704 Fiesty with the Linspire CNR- wow Canonical is going gangbusters- watch out MS... hee haw...
Ubuntu shall overcome...
Thanks,
William

This sounds great! I am a Linux noob, but I believe the best way to learn is through trail and interaction. I am interested in participating in anything that can further my understanding of Ubuntu in particular, and Linux in general, as well as helping other folks in whatever way I can.

K, i'm in too!
I tried attending the Albuquerque Linux Meetup thing but the 3 times I went nobody else showed. Maybe we could set something up... perhaps meet at a coffee shop and discuss Ubuntu.
Let me know your thoughts on this.

I like the idea of a Virtual meeting, with all the tools out there it could be just like being there. We could set up an IRC channel or a host of other options....

I think that is a very good idea. A IRC channel would be the perfect way to start out.

:KS I wanted to thank William for the first New Mexico Ubuntu Newsletter....it's a great start.
For all those included in the first round, what would you like to see next?

I was just sent a PDF by the marketing team for ubuntu of a new mag called full circle. It's only 17 pages but it's pretty slick. As soon as they get a few typos fixed and it's officially released I'll make it available on my web site and I'll post the link in here.

William,
I noticed that the official Ubuntu Loco page says that there all ready is a New Mexico LoCo, I joined the mailing list but got no response. It also says there is an IRC channel but I can't find that either.
I emailed the contact directly but got no response, It looks like the last time he updated his profile was in 2005. I wander who we contact to see what is going on?

Well, I've been in the #Ubuntu-newmexico IRC channel a couple of times and I get requesting information from the mailing list owners but still not getting anywhere. But don't worry I will try my best to get the LOCO organized. check out my web site for more information http:\\myweb.cableone.net/dthomas.

Hi All,
I'm very new to all this Linux stuff actually I just had a PC built and had Linux Ubunto installed on it and I am so lost. But I am trying and so far its been fun. I am running a dual boot system. I also have two 22'' flat screen monitors and I was wondering if there was a way that I can use both of them in Linux instead of just one. I also was wondering if there is a way to use my wireless Bluetooth keyboard. If anyone could or would want to help me out I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
