Hi everyone.

I need to post a lot of images online. I've got thousands of images from when I've done car work before.

I need something that will generate the html and let me add comments to each image.

Or like a CMS that directly supports lots of images with comments and possibly a content linking system where I can define which category each image will go in.

theres a whole image galleries sections there, and you can try them all before installing them on your own server

or maybe you could try hosting your own wiki, I had a closed wiki for a while, its a handy easy to set up system and you can use Wiki links to jump from comments on one image to related images.

I use Gallery and have even been able to integrate it into the front page of my website managed by Drupal.
