I found out about fvwm-crystal and tried it and, let me tell you its BEAUTIFUL and it runs exremely fast even on my 320mb ram and 400mhz proccessor check it out!

if you voted the second choice fvwm is a windows manager for linux that has apparently been around for ages getting better and better.

it is in the repos just do

sudo aptitude install fvwm

OR

sudo aptitude install fvwm-crystal

apparently the crystal version is lighter wieght and better looking.

Well, I could never get fvwm working right but fvwm-crystal is a very pretty Window Manager. I actually prefer it to Fluxbox for lightweight, but I can't stand using a non-GTK Window Manager for some reason. Otherwise I'd probably use Crystal.

I use it sometimes. It's pretty good looking. Right now i'm using enlightenment 17. That is a really big step from E16.

It's in the repos now. Updated from 16 some days ago I think. Just search enlightenment in synaptic.

Don't know about that. Did you install all the enlightenment packages? Just worked here. Maybe some info at : http://www.enlightenment.org/

For FVWM:

For FVWM-Crystal:

Straight FVWM was never to my liking; FVWM-Crystal is gorgeous from the start. And wert613's right, it runs fast even on very old machines.

(Sorry if I come across as a fanboy; in a way, I am. 8-[ )
