You can burn Ubuntu on them and drop them in public places.

If you have high-speed internet connection try different OS'es.. For example, have you ever tested Elive or any BSD?

You can pop one in the microwave for a few seconds to make a nice pattern on the CD-R

i've tried a lot of distros, and the microwave has seen too many CD's, grapes, eggs, christmas lights etc. to be good for it.

as for the lawn game well, my garden is under a foot of snow so i ain't going out in that till i have to (which happens to be tomorrow for an exam)

You could make frisbees or ninja stars out of 'em.

They make cheap reflective diffraction gratings - so you can study (in a poor way) the spectrum of a particular light source.

You could chuck them in the oven (to soften them up) - so you can make a cool little sculpture out of 'em.
