How often do you use Linux?

Give a percentage estimate based on all the computer use you have on a day-to-day basis, how much of that is on a linux system?

I'd say 100%, but I use Windows when helping others out, etc. so I'll say 90%.

Poll attached.

I unfortunally only use linux 20% - 40%. Have ubuntu on my home computer, but must use windows at work (8 hrs a day).

If someone could help me in the connection of a linux VPN to a Watchguard SOHO box at work,

my 90% answer would be 100%

Depends where I am.

Not in the office - 100% of the time.

In the office - 60% of the time.

I voted 80%

Pobega:

I do - there are applications at the office that will only work in Windows - AutoCAD and creating Flash movies are examples, as are specialist engineering applicaitons.

However, I can remote desktop to my office Windows pc from my personal linux (ubuntu) laptop, even over our VPN. Does this count as using a linux machine?

I've gone for 50%. At work I use 2000/XP all day. And at home I use Linux all the time (though I play a game on an XP VMware image).

I have managed to switch my work pc over to ubuntu so I'd say 100%. However sometimes I help my family with their windows pc's.... so I voted 90.

S*&%! - voted for the wrong option. I read the question as what proportion of your PC 'space' is given to Linux, rather than usage - so should have voted for 100% rather than 70% (clearly my mis-vote will cause an international catastrophe).

I only ever use Winz to update its anti-virus nonsense in case my wife uses it.
If I don't use it in 3 months then its gone for good

Right now, about 90% of the time. Once i have AudioMulch running under Wine it will probably be near 95%. If I manage to port my other stuff to Ardour and EnergyXT (and drop Sonar) it will be 100%.

I personally use Ubuntu 100%, even if others in my family don't!

90%, as sometimes I have to use Windows at school...otherwise at home, 100% Linux.

Games, SPSS and IPAQ/Outlook in Windows, the rest of the time in Linux. I guessed around 70%. When I have more time to fiddle I will because I know I can get most of this stuff working without Windows.

I got rid of my Win partition when I realized I hadn't used it for a year. So, 100%.

I voted 60%--both my machines dual boot and I can't escape using windows if I want to not carry my laptop around. My backup machine has been running windows for a while now and I just have yet to restart it to ubuntu.

I'm sad to say it's about 30%.

Most of my computer use is at work, where we use Windows XP. I recently took back a previously lent out laptop, and I'm running XP on that, since I'm too lazy to figure out suspend-to-RAM with Edgy or Dapper (waiting to try Feisty in a few months). So the only time I get on Ubuntu is on my desktop at home.

I voted 90% since it was the highest percentage that allowed for dual-boot :D

Voted 90 % but I think it's somewhere between 90 - 100 % :-k . Need too play some of my games that will not work in cedega sometimes. If you boot into windows often to play games how a look below at "Ubuntu Gamers Arena"

I use Linux 99.9% of the time. The only time I ever touch Windows anymore is when my wife wants me to run Winblows Update for her. Considering we're on an extremely fast internet pipe at home I spend less than ten minutes a month on it.

I put 90% but I think it's more like 95%:)

I voted 100% all of the computers in my house are Linux based the only time I ever touch a windows machine is when I get a call from a friend to fix some problem they are having and those are slowing converting to Linux as well.
