Ditto, they'd have looked so cool with the new CGI effects etc. But, unfortunately, the new series sucks. It's too mainstream and kinda imperialistic for my tastes.

Damn, I forgot Data, he was quite cool.

As for Wesley, well I used to compare him to myself when I saw TNG (I was 15 at the time, and I thought myself quite a geek), so I kinda liked the character.

Though he can be a pain in the ***, Will Wheaton is a nice guy, and he uses Linux and posts on slashdot, too.

Data is the bomb. I wish I were Tasha just because Data is so cool. ;)

In the original series there was one episode where I was watching it and I thought, "This is kinda cool... I didn't know that Q was in the originals." It wasn't Q at all, it was just... basically exactly Q in everything but name. It was bothering me and my geeky friends at our weekly geekathon last night. Does anyone know who I'm talking about? I remember nothing else except thinking that it had to be Q or a Q...

Cisco

DS9 was the best ST series. It's the only one that asked the question "what if the future really sucked, with lots of war, and deceitful things?" That episode where he's talking to the camera telling the story of how he tricked the romulans into thinking the changlings killed their embassador so that they would join forces with the federation in the war. and he was really distraught because he had something terribly immoral for the greater good. that was hands down the best star-trek episode ever!!! And the acting behind Commander Cisco was really good.

Cool.

Well I'm with Hendrixski. DS9 is my favorite series and also include my favorite characters. I can't name a favorite because I think all do really well in that series. It also seemed to be the series with the shortest shakedown time of inter-actor-chemistry. They just basically take off from episode one.

The security guard in the red shirt that gets killed every 3rd or 4th episode - and he still comes back for more ;)

He's called Bob and also has a stick-on target on his back.

He hangs out with the guy from the Vietnam war films who says "When I get back, me and Mary Lou are gonna get married", and the irate fight-back businessman in the Mafia films who says "Just who the hell do they think they are? I'm not gonna lay down and let them walk all over ME!!", and last but not least, the dumb chic in the underware who always has to check out the cellar alone ;)

By the way, the original series with the overacting and wobbly sets will always remain a classic. Bill Shatner's outrageous over-acting was hilarious.

My favourite character was and is Scottie. "She kannnee tehk no moower kaptehn" (while pushing the SS Enterprise to it's limit on another busted warp engine).

In order to answer this question you have first define favorite.

If you mean the most interesting character then I agree with a lot of people here - Spock, Data, Kirk.

But if you mean the most interesting then it has to be Yeoman Rand (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Janice_Rand):).

Why do they feel the need to toss in the token queer english guy? Like the guy on DS9 (I refuse to watch it for that reason alone) and the other one in enterprise. That pretty much ruins the complete show.

The best IMO

TOS (Kirk, Spock)
TNG (Picard,Q,Data)
Voyager (7of9,Torres,The Doctor,Paris)
