Hey guys and gals,
I've been having some trouble with my Gateway (in signature), so I sent it away for repair through my Best Buy service plan. 2 weeks later, lo and behold, the problem wasn't fixed! (Cracks in hinges). At first I was just gonna just bend over and take it like a customer, but my older brother persisted about this clause in their repair contract that says if they don't repair a defect after being sent away, then Best Buy replaces your laptop! Figuring I had nothing to lose (except a busted-*** Gateway laptop), I sent it in. And just yesterday, I picked up my replacement!
Compaq V6105NR Laptop
1.7gHz Celeron M
512mb RAM
100 gig HD
Not exactly brag-worthy, but it's a brand spankin' new machine, and I fought the power to get it so I thought you guys should know. Can't wait to set up the dual-boot! :)
PS: Yeah, I took a hit in RAM, but I got the 512 I installed back.. alas it doesn't fit in this computer. Anyone who's looking for a cheap 512 stick of ddr2, PM me.. this will probably get moved to the marketplace because of this PS part. Oh well.)
