Greetings, I am writing on behalf of Gentoo Linux's Bugday team.

I am currently leading our team and are seeking inspiration among other distributions. I joined your #Ubunu-Bugs channel on IRC yesterday and had a very nice talk with the people in there and I could understand from them that you call it Hug days and not Bugdays like we do.

Anyways, I have written a post (http://alex.stener.nu/index.php/2007/01/14/global-bugday-anyone/) on my blog about making a cross-project 'bugday' (Or hug day -- we can discuss name if it comes so far).

My main concerns about starting such project would be if other people would be interested in participating and help out.

Please read my post at http://alex.stener.nu/index.php/2007/01/14/global-bugday-anyone/ and comment if you have time :)

I would really like to hear some of the Ubuntu peoples comments on having such cross-project project :)

Best regards,
Alexander Færøy

Ps: Sorry if I am writing in the wrong forum -- I think this would fit best in here, but I am not sure at all.

that sounds cool. it could be interesting when looking at a particular bug to see if it existed in other distros.

ubuntu uses launchpad.net as it bug tracker. this can link to and watch bugs in other bug trackers. maybe it can be used to make everyones life easier.

Great... co-operation between flavours is what's necessary to end MS dominance.

Exactly, but that's not the main goal -- the main cool would be to educate people how to help out with the development process of open source software ;)
