wondering how people rate a thread,
do you have to be a forum staff?
if not how do you do it?

also if anyone knows how do you view the people who voted on an open poll....

thx

Click on Rate Thread. It's next to Search this Thread and Display Modes.

Edit: That's weird. Right after posting that, I've lost the ability to rate threads...

Well, the weird thing is that I'm a moderator, and it just disappeared for me. Oh, well. I didn't really rate threads anyway.

May I ask why is rating allowed only to moderators? We, ordinary poor mortals don't deserve to rate? We don't have voice here? I thought we live in democracy...

@aysiu I can't rate threads in this subforum... but I can in others.

Zdravko (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=60248)already explained due to abuse.

Zdravko (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=60248)already explained due to abuse. Here's my two cents: Users should be allowed to rate a thread if, for example, certain qualifications are met. What would these be? They might be as simple as a user without any or very little complaints from others on the forums; users who have expressed themselves in a respectful manner; users who have been active on the Forums for a certain number of days or years; etc., etc., etc.

I've been on the Forums for a while now, and I have yet to see the option to rate threads :-(

And who would decide who is eligible? Not sure if that was a trick question in that Forum Staff and Moderators already decide the important things that happen on the Forums. However, my answer would essentially be that it would be up to the Staff or Moderators or some other special code built into UF (just like the mysterious code that apparently decides when users' beans count/bean names should increase ;)) Coincidentally, I have over 16 hundred posts and am still a "Fresh Brewed Ubuntu" user :-k.

What do you think?

Abuse? What? Where? Here? Ubuntu? Noo, no way! This simply can't be true. What will happen if users have the right to rate a thread?

As explained earlier, it seems to have been disabled for non-staff.

How can I see or search all 5 star threads? I can't even see ratings; I'm not interested in actually rating the threads.
