Currently, I'm using Kiba-Dock, but would like something that is a little less flashy and a bit more functional.

I like to use yab with adesklets.

I've looked at this in the past, but it never says anything about including a dock.

One of the default desklets is a dock

I'll give it a try, then. It sounds interesting.

I don't think it's that great. It has this weird transparency thing going on:o

He said he wanted a *good* dock for Gnome, and to my knowledge none exist.

I find that kiba-dock with rope mode works well for me.

It works well for me, too, but I just want something a bit simpler.
The one with GDesklets is nice, but are there any simple standalone docks? None of the other features of GDesklets are of much use to me.
The one I really want to use is GNOME-Dock, but I can never get it installed correctly.

I've tried it before, and didn't work for me, not even on KDE.

I've played with lots of the available docks and keep returning to Kiba-Dock. It's slowly getting better and better, and all the flash can be turned down or off via gset-kiba.

Can I use it w/o Compiz/Beryl?
